New £45 Million Data Centre Investment For Godalming

With London long established as the data centre capital for Europe, but fast running out of available data centre capacity, Aegis Data Store Limited is delighted to announce the launch of a new £45 million facility in Godalming, England providing for synchronous replication with the City, Canary Wharf and London’s West End. The Godalming facility offers bespoked enterprise class hosting employing the latest thinking on energy and carbon efficiency enabling 30% reductions in energy consumption over that of a conventional data centre.

The Godalming facility has been developed on the site of a former metal finishing works, providing for an ample supply of power and an ideal transformation of a former industrial site into a world class data centre. A highly experienced management team, previously responsible for the design, build and leasing of several million square feet of data centre space, has been working on the project for the last two years and are already in discussions with potential occupiers. Gerald Pawsey, Chief Executive of Aegis Data Store, said; "Having worked on this project for some time now we are very excited to have secured planning permission, power and data communications and are now in position to launch the development. Surprisingly, given current market conditions, we have been approached by several large potential tenants ahead of launching the site, several of whom we are now in active discussions with."
